The Effects of the Health Perception on Health Promoting Behavior in Child Care Teachers

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the health perception on health promoting behavior in child care teachers.

Methods: The Participants of this study were 227 child care teachers who were selected from participants of a job traning program by purposive sampling. T-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation, and Stepwised multiple regression using the SPSS program were conducted in order to analyze data.

Results: First, there was a difference in health promoting behaviors according to demographic factors (age and license type). Second, it was found that the health perception and age of the participants were significantly related to the health promoting behaviors. Finally, the health perception and age had an influence on health promoting behavior.

Conclusions: The Health promoting behavior was associated with the health perception and age in child care teachers. Further study is need to investigate more factor which influence on the health promoting behavior.
